Natalia L. Pleshkova

Natalia L. Pleshkova has graduated from St.Petersburg State University in 1998 and has earned her PhD there in 2010 on the quality of attachment of young children in families and orphanages. Natalia L. Pleshkova is certified expert in assessment of quality of attachment in young children (The International Association for the study of Attachment (IASA), 2002). During 2000 – 2012 Natalia L. Pleshkova worked as the expert of adult-child interaction and attachment in longitudinal research projects on children in institutions and foster families in St.Petersburg. Currently, Natalia L. Pleshkova works as an Associate Professor at the Department of Psychology of St.Petersburg State University, also she is a Visiting Research Fellow at Swedish School of Social Science in Helsinki University, Finland. The scientific interests of Dr. Pleshkova are in the field of the studying the attachment relationships of the children and adults and how attachment is changed during life circle. The results of these studies are used in early intervention practice.

At the Laboratory of Translational Sciences of Early Childhood of the SPbSU, Dr. Pleshkova is the expert of adult-child interaction and attachment.
