Varvara O. Anikina

Varvara O. Anikina has graduated from St.Petersburg State University in 2001 and has earned her PhD there in 2004 on the psychological characteristics of caregivers in babyhomes. In 1999-2008 Varvara O. Anikina had additional training on attachment theory in DMM by P.M. Crittenden, and since 2000 participates in international projects, including those in babyhomes in St.Petersburg. Her scientific interests lie in the area of child and adult clinical psychology and mental health, specifically in medical institutions, as well as psychological counselling and integrational approach to mental health.

At the moment Dr. Anikina works as an Assistant Professor at the Division of Child and Parent Mental Health and Early Intervention at the Department of Psychology of St.Petersburg State University as well as she is the the Head of Counselling Psychology Direction within Master Program on Mental Health.

At the Laboratory of Translational Sciences of Early Childhood of the SPbSU, Dr. Anikina is responsible for organizing the research at the babyhomes participating in the project as well as she leads the scientific research in the area of child social-emotional functioning and adaptive behavior and his social environment.
